Handwara Police arrests three persons, recover haul of narcotics

Srinagar: In order to contain the menace of illicit sale of narcotics, Handwara Police recovered Charas like substance and arrested three persons during a search operation in the Rasripora area.

A police party of Police Station Kralgund while on Naka checking at Rasripora on Baramulla-Handwara Road apprehended three persons who had attempted to evade the police party in a suspicious manner. On search, around 306 grams of Charas like substance was recovered from their possession.

The persons have been identified as – Asif Rasool Khan S/o Ghulam Rasool Khan, Arif Ahmad Najar S/o Ab Aziz both residents of Beigpora, Kralgund and Muzafar Ahmad Bhat S/o Reyaz Ahmad R/o Kralgund.

A First Information Report (FIR) No.26/2022 under relevant section of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 (NDPS Act) has been registered at Police Station Kralgund, accused arrested and investigation initiated.

The general public is requested to share information related to drug peddling so that appropriate action under law can be initiated.
