Ahmedabad: Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, fulfilled his promise of organizing his son’s wedding in a simple and traditional manner, as announced earlier during his visit to the Maha Kumbh Mela. Marking this occasion with a noble gesture, Adani pledged ₹10,000 crore towards social welfare initiatives.

Adani had previously declared that his son’s wedding would be a modest affair, dispelling speculations of a grand and extravagant celebration. Staying true to his word, the wedding of Jeet Gautam Adani was conducted in an intimate setting, attended only by close family and friends.

The massive ₹10,000 crore donation will be utilized for various social service initiatives, in alignment with Adani’s philosophy:
“Seva is devotion, seva is prayer, and seva is the path to the divine.”

The funds will primarily be allocated to healthcare, education, and skill development. The initiatives include:
• World-class hospitals and medical colleges offering affordable healthcare.
• Affordable, high-quality K-12 schools to strengthen the education system.
• Global-standard skill development academies ensuring employment opportunities for youth.

Gautam Adani’s Tweet Expresses Gratitude

On the occasion of his son’s wedding, Gautam Adani posted an emotional tweet, stating:

“With the blessings of the Almighty, Jeet and Diva have entered a new phase of life today. This was a small and intimate family ceremony, conducted with traditional rituals and the blessings of elders. We regret that we couldn’t invite all our well-wishers, and we seek your understanding. I only wish for your blessings for my daughter Diva and my son Jeet as they embark on this new journey.”

Observers noted that Adani referred to his daughter-in-law Diva as his “daughter,” reflecting his inclusive and affectionate approach.

The wedding took place at Belvedere Club, Adani Shantigram, Ahmedabad, in a traditional and religious manner, followed by Gujarati customs. Unlike high-profile billionaire weddings, this event was not attended by top politicians, foreign dignitaries, business tycoons, bureaucrats, Bollywood celebrities, or entertainers, making its simplicity stand out.

Who is Jeet Adani?

Jeet Adani, currently a Director at Adani Airports, oversees the operations of six international airports and is leading the construction of the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport. He holds a degree from the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.

His bride, Diva, is the daughter of renowned diamond merchant Jaimin Shah.

A Wedding with a Purpose: Social Initiatives Announced

Two days before the wedding, Gautam Adani announced the Mangal Seva initiative, focusing on supporting differently-abled married women. As part of this program:
• 500 newlywed disabled women will receive ₹10 lakh each every year.
• To mark the wedding, 21 such women and their husbands were personally met by Jeet, who handed over financial assistance.

This unique initiative reflects Adani’s commitment to meaningful philanthropy rather than lavish celebrations.

A Wedding Unlike Any Other

Gautam Adani had previously addressed speculation about his son’s wedding during his visit to the Maha Kumbh Mela on January 21, 2025. When asked if his son’s wedding would be a grand celebrity event, he had firmly denied it, stating:

“We are like any other ordinary people. Jeet has come here only to seek the blessings of Maa Ganga. His wedding will be simple and traditional.”

True to his words, Adani’s decision to avoid extravagance and instead contribute to social welfare has set an inspiring example for the elite class.

In an era where billionaire weddings often showcase opulence and luxury, Gautam Adani has redefined what it means to celebrate a milestone—with purpose, humility, and a commitment to society.
