Islamabad: Pakistan’s media reported on Friday that the Indian Army launched a large-scale counterattack across several areas in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), including Tatta Pani, Khuiratta, Kotli, Nakyal, Titri Note, and Abbaspur. According to sources, the attack led to an emergency being declared in local hospitals across the region.
The escalation follows a night of heavy firing by the Pakistan Army across the Line of Control (LoC) in sectors such as Uri, Kupwara, Tangdhar, and Karnah in Jammu and Kashmir, violating the ceasefire.
Reports indicate that Pakistan fired eight missiles targeting key locations including Satwari, Samba, RS Pura, and Arnia. However, Indian air defence units successfully intercepted and neutralized all incoming missiles, preventing any damage or casualties.
Sources have compared the missile attack on Jammu to a Hamas-style operation, referring to the multiple rockets fired as similar to tactics employed by terrorist groups. Indian officials have stated that Pakistan’s military is acting like a terrorist organization. The situation has been further compounded by reports that the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) of Pakistan met with Hamas operatives in PoJK last month.
