SAMBA, Jammu: The festival of Dussehra was celebrated with great enthusiasm and traditional fervour at Diani, Ramgarh, under the aegis of the Ram Leela Club Diani. The event drew a large gathering of residents who came together to commemorate the eternal triumph of good over evil through the symbolic burning of the effigies of Ravana, Meghnath, and Kumbhkaran.
On this occasion, Dr Devinder Kumar Manyal, MLA (Ramgarh) and Former Minister for Health and Medical Education, J&K, graced the event as the chief guest. In his address, Dr Manyal underscored the importance of Dussehra as a festival that reminds society to uphold truth, righteousness, and moral integrity. He lauded the Ram Leela Club Diani for its dedicated efforts in preserving and promoting the region’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage.
The celebration featured devotional performances, cultural programs, and enthusiastic participation by the local community, reflecting a spirit of unity, devotion, and joy.
The event culminated with the burning of effigies amid loud cheers and chants, symbolising the timeless message — the victory of good over evil.
