7 J&K NCC Battalion, GDC Kupwara Hold TB Awareness Programme

Kupwara: The 7 J&K NCC Battalion, in collaboration with Government Degree College (GDC) Kupwara and the District Tuberculosis Unit, Kupwara, organised a one-day awareness programme on tuberculosis (TB) at GDC Kupwara.

Commandant of the 7 J&K NCC Battalion Colonel Ramneek Singh, Principal of GDC Kupwara Professor Kamal Kishore, District Tuberculosis Officer Dr Ghulam Hassan and other dignitaries attended the programme.

Students from various schools and educational institutions participated in the awareness session and were sensitised about tuberculosis, including its symptoms, prevention, treatment and the importance of early diagnosis.

The speakers highlighted the need to strengthen awareness about tuberculosis and stressed the importance of timely diagnosis and treatment. Students were also encouraged to play an active role in spreading accurate information about TB and contributing to efforts aimed at building a TB-free society.

The programme focused on educating young people about the health risks associated with tuberculosis and the importance of seeking medical attention when symptoms appear.

The event concluded with the administration of a pledge. Participants pledged to contribute to the goal of making society tuberculosis-free and to spread awareness about the disease among their families and communities.
