Bhiwandi: Call it providence or godsend wisdom, an exchange of room by 30 year old Ayesha Ali Akhtar Ansari along with her six month old baby girl Nadiya, her eight year old son Shafique survived the building crash in Bhiwandi. She and her kids were saved because of her brother in law Abid Lal Mohammad Ansari (40). Tragically though, Abid has lost his two kids, while one kid along with his wife was saved and sustained some injuries.
Abid Ansari is an auto driver by profession and used to do door to door delivery of cakes by auto. He resides with wife Salma (34), two sons Danish (11), Kamish (13), one daughter Aksa (14) in the hall room of the flat while his sister in law Ayesa Ali Akhtar and two children lived in a bedroom of same flat at Jilani apartment on the third floor, Patel compound in Dhamankar Naka, while her husband who works in Saudi Arabia.
Abid Ansari while speaking to thenews21, “On the day of tragedy, he had come home after finishing his work, exhausted and done with his dinner he went to Ayesa’s room. Following which, Ayesha along with kids went to another flat where her mother-in-law Zulekha Lal Mohammad stays in the same building where half portion of the building was still intact. She along with her kids and mother in law came down from the third floor”.

Abid along with Kamish slept in the bedroom while his wife Salma and Aksa and Danish slept in the hall (the half portion of the structure collapsed side). Abid further said “I woke up when the building crashed down and found that all were buried under the debris. Dead bodies of the two kids (Aksa and Danish) were pulled out from the debris by the help of locals, NDRF and TDRF team. The three sustained injuries to the body and were taken to the Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGM) hospital in Bhiwandi for treatment.
