Mumbai: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis extended heartfelt birthday wishes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his 75th birthday, lauding the transformative leadership that has reshaped India over the past decade.

Fadnavis emphasized how Modi’s tenure has taken India from being the world’s fourth-largest economy to the brink of becoming the third-largest, all while ensuring self-reliance, swadeshi growth, and financial inclusion.

Highlighting key national achievements, Fadnavis praised PM Modi for:

  • Monumental welfare initiatives lifting 2.5 crore people out of poverty, building 3 crore homes, and providing tap water to 15 crore households.
  • Direct Benefit Transfer programs like Jan Dhan, DBT, and Aadhaar, ensuring every rupee reaches the beneficiary.
  • Women empowerment, with plans to see 33% female representation in legislatures by 2029.
  • Infrastructure and innovation, including growth in start-ups, AIIMS, IIMs, airports, highways, and digital transactions, with India now accounting for 49% of global digital transactions.
  • Strong national defense, citing surgical strikes, Balakot airstrikes, and Operation Sindoor as examples of decisive leadership.

Fadnavis specifically highlighted Modi’s focus on Maharashtra, recalling the Prime Minister’s support in:

  • Sanctioning Rs 3,500 crore for the Indu Mill memorial.
  • Approving 30 lakh houses under PM Awas Yojana in 2025 alone.
  • Backing mega infrastructure projects: Vadhavan Port, Navi Mumbai Airport, Pune Airport, Nagpur and Amravati Airport modernization, Amravati Textile Park, Gadchiroli Steel City, Palakhi Path, Mumbai/Nagpur/Pune Metro projects, and Auric City in Sambhajinagar.
  • Initiating ambitious river-linking programs and drought relief water conservation packages.

Fadnavis added that working closely with PM Modi has been a matter of fortune, praising his unwavering discipline, transparent governance, and ability to separate party and government matters. “He is like the head of our larger family. Whenever we share an issue, he invariably provides a solution,” Fadnavis said.
