The Delhi Election Commission is set to release the final voter list on Monday in preparation for the upcoming 2025 Delhi Assembly elections. The updated list will reflect new voter registrations and deletions, marking the final opportunity for voters to verify their eligibility. Voters whose names are missing from the final list will not be able to participate in the elections.
The release of the final list comes amidst controversy after AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh’s allegations of voter deletions in areas where Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is set to contest. Singh claimed that the district election officer (DEO) of New Delhi had failed to provide details of voter deletions and was “deliberately” removing names. However, the DEO refuted these claims, calling them “baseless” and clarified that all deletions were done after thorough verification in line with Election Commission guidelines.
The AAP has accused the BJP of orchestrating bulk voter deletions in constituencies favoring the Kejriwal-led party, further fueling the controversy. In response, the DEO emphasized that voter deletions were carried out transparently, with all political parties—including AAP—being notified weekly about the deletions under the Election Commission’s guidelines.
Meanwhile, Delhi CM Atishi is set to address a press conference at 2 PM today, where she is expected to reveal key details about a major scam, adding to the political drama ahead of the elections. In the midst of these developments, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reassured the public that welfare schemes will continue if the BJP takes power in Delhi, urging voters to reject Kejriwal’s leadership.
