Deepika Singh, renowned for her role in Star Plus’ blockbuster series ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum,’ has made a triumphant return to the small screen with Colors TV’s latest offering, ‘Mangal Lakshmi.’ Starring alongside Naman Shaw and Sanika, ‘Mangal Lakshmi’ narrates the tale of two sisters, promising audiences a compelling storyline filled with drama and emotion.
In a recent interview with Telly Bytes, Deepika opened up about the comparisons drawn between ‘Mangal Lakshmi’ and another popular television show, ‘Anupamaa.’ Addressing these comparisons head-on, Deepika clarified, “When I received the scripts, I was very clear that ‘Mangal Lakshmi’ is not like ‘Anupamaa.’ I knew the story of the show already because I was being roped in for the show.”
Expressing her views on the matter, Deepika emphasized the uniqueness of each show, highlighting the distinctiveness brought about by different scripts, writers, directors, and cast members. “No two shows can be similar because no two people can be similar too,” she stated firmly. “Our show is the story of two sisters. Mangal’s equation with Adit is just a part of the story; she is an illiterate.”
While acknowledging the comparisons made by some viewers, Deepika expressed her admiration for ‘Anupamaa,’ acknowledging its success and the love it has garnered from audiences. She added, “If our show reaches that level and receives as much love as ‘Anupamaa’ is doing, it will be a blessing for me.”
With ‘Mangal Lakshmi’ steadily gaining momentum in terms of viewership, Deepika remains grateful for the support and affection the show has received. She revealed, “My mother-in-law loves ‘Mangal Lakshmi’ too, and that is a huge deal for me.”
‘Anupamaa,’ produced by Rajan Shahi and starring Rupali Ganguly, has consistently topped the TRP charts, enjoying immense popularity among audiences. Meanwhile, ‘Mangal Lakshmi’ is also witnessing a promising rise in viewership, promising an engaging narrative and stellar performances from its cast.
