DDC Kupwara holds joint meeting of officers, public representatives at Handwara over development works and for problem solving.

Srinagar: District Development Commissioner (DDC), Kupwara, Imam Din on Wednesday called upon the officers and field functionaries of the district to play a more proactive role in resolving the problems of the people at ground level. The DDC was addressing a joint meeting of district officers and public representatives at Environmental Hall, Handwara.
Speaking at the occasion, the DDC said that the government has already devised a mechanism in the form of Block Divas which is meant to address the problems of the people at block level, adding that the District Administration has intensified its efforts to reach out to the people and resolve their issues at the ground level.
Meanwhile, the elected representatives of different constituencies and blocks spoke at the meeting and put forth various developmental issues and problems of their concerned areas before the chair. The issues raised include erratic power supply, non-availability of potable water and irrigation facilities, maintenance of inner link roads, augmentation of medical facilities in NTPHCs and PHCs of the sub division Handwara.
The DDC heard the representatives patiently and assured them of proper and timely resolution to their genuine demands. The DDC issued on the spot directions to the concerned officers to take note of the problems of the people and resolve them on priority.
Replying to a query about old school buildings, the DDC said that the administration will conduct a safety audit of all school buildings across the district to ensure safety of the children.

Earlier, the ADC Handwara briefed the DDC about the administrative profile of the Handwara sub division. The DDC was accorded a warm reception on his maiden visit to Handwara sub-division.
