New Delhi: The Congress party on Saturday took a swipe at the Modi government over ongoing troubles in the aviation and railway sectors, citing former Madhya Pradesh CM and Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s recent complaint about discomfort on an Air India flight.
In a post on X, Congress accused the government of ignoring passenger grievances despite mounting complaints across different modes of transport.
“Passengers are troubled in trains, passengers are distressed on planes. People keep complaining and making videos, but there is no hearing. Now, since Shivraj ji has a problem, he is tweeting—maybe action will be taken on this,” the party wrote.
The remarks came after Chouhan raised concerns over Air India’s services, questioning the airline’s management over faulty seats. Expressing disappointment, he wrote, “I thought Air India’s service had improved under Tata, but I was mistaken. Charging passengers full fare and making them sit on bad seats is unethical. Isn’t this cheating?”
Seeking corrective action, he further asked, “Will Air India ensure no passenger faces such inconvenience, or will it continue taking advantage of their urgency to reach their destination?”
Responding to his grievance, Air India issued an apology on X, stating, “Dear Sir, we apologize for the inconvenience. We are looking into this matter to prevent such occurrences. Please DM us a convenient time to connect.”
