Delhi: Amidst ongoing tensions between the Congress and BJP, the Central government has yet to announce a memorial for former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh following his death on Thursday at the age of 92. Singh, who served as Prime Minister from 2004 to 2014, is widely credited with significant economic reforms during his tenure.

The Congress party, however, raised concerns over the lack of a designated location for Singh’s cremation and memorial. They accused the government of deliberately insulting India’s first Sikh Prime Minister by not providing a space for his memorial. This criticism came after the Union Home Ministry confirmed that Singh’s last rites would be conducted with full state honours at New Delhi’s Nigambodh Ghat on Saturday at 11:45 am.
