Patna: In a significant development ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections 2025, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan met BJP leader Nityanand Rai on Friday to finalise the NDA seat-sharing arrangement, raising political excitement across the state.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Paswan described the discussions as “positive” and hinted that the seat allocation announcement could happen very soon. He said, “The talks are going in a positive manner and are in their end stage now. The thing you’ve been waiting for will also happen very soon. Apart from seats, we are discussing everything in detail to ensure there’s never any problem within the alliance. Where our Prime Minister is, I don’t need to worry about my own respect.”

Riding the momentum of the LJP(RV)’s sweeping success in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, where it won all five seats it contested, Paswan is reportedly aiming to contest 40 to 50 assembly seats this time. The BJP, which initially offered around 20 constituencies, is said to have increased the number to 22, though no official confirmation has been released.

Political sources revealed that Nityanand Rai visited Chirag Paswan’s residence three times on Thursday, highlighting the urgency and intensity of the seat-sharing negotiations. The discussions are focusing on key constituencies where the LJP(RV) claims strong influence, including:

Bakhri – currently held by a CPI legislator and narrowly lost by BJP last time

Matiani – previously won by LJP’s Rajkumar, who later joined JDU

Alouli, Simri Bakhtiyarpur, and Morwa – won by RJD in the last election, with JDU second and LJP third
