Delhi: A wave of bomb threat alerts sent shockwaves through multiple schools in different parts of the country on Friday, prompting swift emergency responses from police and security agencies. Educational institutions in Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, and Punjab were placed on high alert as authorities moved quickly to ensure student safety and investigate the source of the threats.

In Ahmedabad, several prominent schools, including St Xavier’s and St Kabir, received threatening emails warning of explosives on campus. Following the alerts, the Ahmedabad Crime Branch immediately activated its bomb disposal squad and forensic teams. School premises were closely examined as part of standard safety procedures, while law enforcement agencies worked to trace the origin of the emails. Officials stated that no suspicious objects were found during initial searches, but investigations remain ongoing.

A similar situation unfolded in Noida, where multiple private schools reported receiving bomb threat messages. As a precaution, local police, fire department units, bomb squads, and dog squads were deployed to the affected campuses. School administrations promptly informed parents about the situation and the safety protocols being followed. In some cases, students were sent home using school buses, with parents advised to coordinate closely with transport staff.

One of the school principals in Noida appealed to parents to remain calm and cooperate with authorities, stressing that student safety was the top priority. In another Noida school, preschool classes were suspended for the day, transport services were halted, and online classes were also cancelled as a preventive measure.

Beyond Noida and Ahmedabad, a school in Punjab’s Moga district also received a bomb threat email earlier this week. Police confirmed that the school was evacuated immediately after the principal alerted authorities. A thorough search of the premises was conducted, after which students were safely sent home. Officials later indicated that the threat appeared to be non-credible, similar to previous incidents reported in other districts of Punjab.

Law enforcement agencies have noted a concerning pattern of hoax bomb threats targeting schools over recent months. In several past cases across Noida, Patiala, and Jalandhar, emails threatening explosions were later found to be false alarms. However, officials emphasized that each threat is treated with utmost seriousness to avoid any risk.

Police departments across states have increased vigilance and cyber monitoring to identify those responsible for sending such threatening messages. Authorities warned that strict legal action would be taken against anyone found behind these hoax threats, describing them as acts that cause unnecessary panic and disrupt public safety.
