As the political landscape in Maharashtra undergoes a significant transformation, BJP has set ambitious goals for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections, aiming to secure a staggering 370 seats on its own while also seeking to clinch over 400 seats in collaboration with the NDA. In a strategic move, BJP is meticulously considering its options, focusing on one seat at a time to fortify its position across the country.

In a surprising turn of events, former Chief Minister of Maharashtra and senior Congress leader Ashok Chavan has parted ways with his party, crossing over to BJP. His induction into the party has not only bolstered BJP’s ranks but also secured the Nanded seat for the party through his appointment to the Rajya Sabha. With this momentum, BJP is now poised to forge new alliances in Maharashtra, with the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) emerging as a potential partner.

The recent arrival of MNS chief Raj Thackeray in New Delhi, accompanied by his son Amit Thackeray, has fueled speculations of the party’s imminent entry into the NDA fold. There are indications that MNS might be offered the Mumbai South seat as part of the alliance, with discussions underway between Thackeray and BJP leadership, including a meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

While MNS has seen success in Maharashtra’s assembly elections, securing a notable victory in Nashik Municipal Corporation, its performance in Lok Sabha elections has been less impactful. Despite fielding candidates in previous elections, MNS has failed to secure a single seat, prompting speculation about its strategic alignment for the upcoming polls.

Raj Thackeray’s aggressive rhetoric and ability to rally support through impassioned speeches could prove advantageous if MNS joins the grand alliance for the Lok Sabha elections. Thackeray’s potential inclusion would not only provide a formidable voice against the Mahavikas Aghadi but also offer BJP a valuable ally in the electoral battleground.

The collaborative efforts between BJP, Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena, and Ajit Pawar-led NCP aim to secure 45 seats in Maharashtra. Talks are underway regarding the number of seats MNS might be allocated within the grand alliance, with discussions centering around Thackeray’s request for two seats. Speculations suggest that MNS could be offered the constituency seat of Dakshin Mumbai, among others, signaling a potential shift in the electoral landscape.

As Maharashtra braces for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the political calculus continues to evolve, with alliances and strategic partnerships shaping the narrative of the electoral contest. The inclusion of MNS in the NDA alliance could significantly impact the electoral outcome, with Raj Thackeray emerging as a pivotal player in Maharashtra’s political arena.

The final outcome of these deliberations will be revealed in the results of June 4, shedding light on MNS’s role within the NDA and its broader implications for Maharashtra’s political landscape.
