Ayush department organised awareness cum medical camp at Sun Rise Secondary School, Handwara

Srinagar: Under the instructions of Director Ayush and District Ayush officer, Dr Farooq Iqbal, Swastha Balak Balika Spardha activity under Poshan Abhiyan, 2022 was held by Ayush unit Handwara at Sunrise Public school at Handwara. District Development Council (DDC) chairman, Mohammad Sulaiman attended as an esteemed chair guest and inaugurated the campaign.

In this campaign, Dr Shahi Jahan Wani addressed the children and gave them knowledge about the benefits of herbal plants and their nutritional values. The girls of pubertal age group were given information in the context of anaemia which can occur due to lack of iron. 

They were made to understand about the various herbal plants rich in iron which are easily available to them. He also listed various fruits, vegetables and herbal plants and their importance. 

A yoga session was also conducted by Dr Seema and yoga tips were given to the children which they could practice in the morning assembly as well.

The main goal of this camp was to make people aware of herbal medicines and the wellbeing of the children. In this camp, nearly 375 children participated and complementary herbal medicines and immuno boosters were also distributed among the children.

In this camp, Dr Mohammad Ismail, Dr Shahi Jahan Wani, Dr Seema, Dr Syed Ubaid, Dr Ibraheem, Dr Iqra, Dr Shaishta and senior pharmacist, Farooq Ahmad also participated.
