Delhi Chief Minister Atishi on Tuesday leveled serious allegations against the BJP-led central government, accusing it of orchestrating a “major conspiracy to manipulate the voter list in Delhi.” According to Atishi, the government is misusing administrative machinery to unfairly disenfranchise voters, specifically targeting supporters of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Atishi claimed the conspiracy began on October 28, following the transfer of 29 Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) and Additional District Magistrates (ADMs). She alleged that these officials were subsequently directed to remove AAP voters from the electoral rolls.

“Shortly thereafter, orders were issued directing the officers to begin removing AAP voters from the list. These orders were coming directly from SDM offices, where AERO-BLO (Assistant Electoral Registration Officers and Booth Level Officers) were asked to remove AAP voters from the list,” Atishi wrote on X.

She further alleged that these officials were provided with a specific list of AAP supporters and voters to target for removal from the rolls.

Atishi’s statements have ignited political tensions in Delhi, with AAP leaders demanding an investigation into the allegations. The BJP, however, has not yet issued an official response to the claims.

The allegations come at a critical time for Delhi’s political landscape, with AAP and BJP often at loggerheads over governance and administrative issues in the national capital. Atishi’s accusations highlight yet another flashpoint between the two sides as the electoral process in Delhi faces scrutiny.
