Sawant Questions Judiciary Over Ram Mandir Donation Case
Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Arvind Sawant launched a strong attack on the country’s judicial system while reacting to the alleged Ayodhya Ram Mandir donation embezzlement case. Speaking in Maharashtra’s Yavatmal, the opposition leader questioned the functioning of both the judiciary and the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the matter.
‘The Judicial System Has Become Enslaved’
Expressing his criticism, Sawant said, “The biggest misfortune of this country is that the judicial system in the country stands enslaved. Who can protect the Constitution? The judicial system. But does it do its work? Even the Supreme Court is not doing it. They are sitting as slaves.”
His remarks come amid the ongoing political controversy surrounding the alleged misuse of donations collected for the Ayodhya Ram Mandir.
‘Do You Even Trust These SITs?’
The Shiv Sena (UBT) MP also questioned the credibility of the investigation being carried out by the SIT.
“Do you even trust these SITs? SIT will decide only what they will be signalled and told,” Sawant alleged, expressing doubts over the independence of the probe.
‘They Chant Jai Shri Ram and Do Corruption’
Continuing his attack, Sawant linked the controversy to those accused in the alleged donation embezzlement case.
“But it is good that Ramlalla did justice — they utter Jai Shri Ram and do corruption, but He slapped them in the face,” he said.
Sawant’s remarks are likely to intensify the political battle over the alleged Ayodhya Ram Mandir donation embezzlement case, which has become a major point of confrontation between the ruling alliance and the opposition.
