New Delhi: Ahead of the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal has announced that employment generation will be the primary focus of his government over the next five years. Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Kejriwal revealed that his team is working on a detailed plan to tackle unemployment in the national capital.

Kejriwal’s announcement came just a day after he unveiled a seven-point manifesto for the middle class, accusing previous governments of neglecting their concerns. In a video message on Wednesday, the AAP leader stated that the middle class, which he called the “real superpower” of India’s economy, has long been exploited for tax collection without receiving adequate benefits in return.

The BJP responded sharply to Kejriwal’s remarks, criticizing his “populist demands” and accusing him of misleading the middle class. Kejriwal, however, stood firm on his proposals, which include raising the education budget from 2% to 10% of GDP, capping private school fees, and offering scholarships for higher education. He also called for a significant boost in healthcare spending, removing taxes on health insurance premiums, and reinstating tax exemptions for middle-class families.

As Delhi heads to the polls on February 5, Kejriwal’s promises aim to address the pressing issues faced by the middle class, while also emphasizing job creation as a key pillar of his vision for the city’s future. The results of the election will be announced on February 8.
