Handwara Kupwara: On 24 Jun 2021, in a function organized at Army Goodwill School, Budkoot Lieutenant. General Yogesh Kumar Joshi, UYSM, AVSM, VIC, SM, ADC, General Officer Commanding in Chief, Northern Command in presence of Lieutenant General DP Pandey, AVSM,VSM General Officer Commanding, Chinar Corps renamed the school as Ashutosh Army Goodwill School, Budkot, in memory Late Colonel Ashutosh Sharma.
The function was attended by Mrs Pallavi Ashutosh Sharma, wife of Late Colonel Ashutosh Shama through video streaming. Senior officials of Army, Police and Civil Administration and several students of Army Goodwill School, Budkot attended the event.
Since, its establishment in April 2004, Amy Goodwill School, Budkot has emerged as a premier educational institution in North Kashmir by not only providing quality education but also focusing on the overall development of its students. The school has been appropriately renamed after the officer, who spent five yrs in Rajwar in various capacities.
Due to his immense contribution to the upliftment of Army Goodwill School& well being of locals, he will remain a source of inspiration for the students and the people of North Kashmir.
Speaking on the occasion, General Officer Commanding. General Officer Commanding in Chief applauded the bravery of Late Colonel Ashutosh Shama and encouraged everyone to shoulder responsibility in the ongoing efforts for bringing normalcy to Kashmir.
Towards the culmination of the function, the General Officer complimented the school for its continued outstanding performance.
