As polling day for the Haryana Assembly elections unfolds, Anil Vij, the BJP candidate from Ambala Cantt, has ignited speculation regarding the party’s Chief Ministerial candidate. Vij confidently asserted on Saturday that the BJP will secure victory in the state and hinted at his potential candidacy for the top post, emphasizing his seniority within the party.

“I am the senior most in the party,” Vij declared. “BJP will form its government in Haryana. The CM will be decided by the party. If the party wants me, then our next meeting will be in the Chief Minister’s residence.” His statements not only project confidence but also position him as a leading contender for the Chief Minister’s role should the BJP emerge victorious.

The Lotus Symbol and Peace

Vij expressed his belief that the people of Ambala would rally behind the BJP, stating that the “Lotus symbol means peace.” He underscored that the residents of Ambala yearn for stability, declaring, “They do not want hooliganism back here… Peace means the symbol of the lotus.” His remarks reflect a campaign strategy centered around the themes of safety and tranquility, appealing to voters’ desire for a peaceful community.

Critique of Opposition

In his statements, Vij did not shy away from criticizing his political adversaries, particularly Kumari Selja of the Congress party. He remarked, “Kumari Selja is feeling suffocated in Congress; she is not being respected in the party,” highlighting the internal dissent within the opposition ranks.
