“All the Jokers Are Sitting in the Election Commission” — TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee Slams ECI Over ‘Fake Death’ Claims

Delhi: West Bengal’s political landscape was once again roiled as TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee accused the Election Commission of mishandling the electoral process, calling it a “mockery” following the recent controversy over alleged fake deaths.

Speaking to the media, Banerjee expressed strong outrage over the ECI declaring one of his councillors dead, despite the individual being very much alive. “One of my councillors has also been declared dead. It is wrong to declare a genuine person dead. The ECI is making the entire thing a mockery,” he said.

He further took aim at the BJP, alleging that the party is deliberately creating confusion to manipulate election outcomes. “Was even one infiltrator found in Bengal? BJP just creates ruckus to win the elections, but it is very bad,” Banerjee asserted, accusing the opposition of spreading misinformation to influence voters.

In a scathing remark, the TMC leader added, “All the jokers are sitting in the Election Commission,” highlighting his belief that the body tasked with ensuring free and fair elections is failing in its duties.
