As political temperatures begin rising ahead of the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav launched a fierce attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party, accusing the ruling party of attempting to influence electoral processes and weaken democratic institutions.
Addressing a gathering in Kasganj, the former Uttar Pradesh chief minister claimed that the opposition must remain vigilant to protect voters’ rights and ensure transparency in future elections.
Akhilesh Warns Over Electoral Integrity
Speaking before party workers and supporters, Yadav alleged that recent electoral exercises in different states had raised serious concerns and warned against any attempt to tamper with the democratic process.
“The kind of dishonesty seen in the Bihar and West Bengal elections, if the same loot and dishonesty happen in Uttar Pradesh, then there may never be elections in the future,” he said.
He further alleged that efforts were being made to reshape electoral outcomes and urged party workers to closely monitor voter rolls at the grassroots level.
Focus on Voter Lists
The Samajwadi Party chief called on party cadres to conduct extensive outreach across villages and local communities to ensure that eligible voters remain on electoral rolls.
“We have to ensure, village by village and house by house, that no voter’s name is deleted,” Yadav said.
According to him, vigilance over voter registration and verification processes would become a major political issue in the run-up to future elections.
Reservation and PDA Politics Take Centre Stage
Yadav also accused the BJP of neglecting the interests of backward classes, Dalits and minorities, groups that the SP collectively refers to as PDA.
“The BJP has snatched the rights of PDA and looted reservation benefits,” he alleged.
He further claimed that policies related to representation and reservation were being handled in a manner that disadvantaged large sections of society.
Strong Message on Law and Order
The SP president also targeted the state’s law-and-order record, particularly on allegations of fake encounters.
“Those who have carried out fake encounters will face action in accordance with justice when the Samajwadi government is formed, and they will go to jail,” he said.
The remarks are likely to intensify political debate over policing and governance in the state.
Farmers, Youth and Jobs in Focus
Akhilesh Yadav accused the BJP government of failing to address key concerns affecting farmers and young people. He claimed that promises related to farm income and minimum support prices remain unfulfilled, while repeated examination paper leaks have damaged the prospects of job seekers and students.
The SP leader also alleged that public healthcare services have weakened and that government hospitals continue to struggle with shortages of staff and essential medicines.
2027 Battle Begins to Take Shape
With nearly a year to go before Uttar Pradesh enters full election mode, Yadav’s speech reflected the Samajwadi Party’s strategy of combining concerns over democracy, social justice, employment and farmer welfare into a broader political campaign against the BJP.
