New Delhi: The Union Government should urgently declare the recent flood as a national calamity immediately and mobilize all necessary effort & fund packages for the flood affected people of different states. This was demanded by All India Kisan Sabha, (AIKS) President Rajan Kshirsagar and General Secretary, Ravula Venkaiah in a media statement released on Wednesday.

India has witnessed heavy rainfall and floods in the different parts of the country, especially in Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Telangana, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Assam & other parts of India.

Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Telangana, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Assam & other parts have witnessed heavy floods due to high rainfall. Many people have lost their lives. Lakhs have been displaced. Lakhs became homeless. Cattles have been lost. Crops on lakhs of hectares of agricultural lands has been ruined. Many people are still in stranded positions without food and shelter.

It is the time to help and support when people are in distress but unfortunately the union Government has not taken sufficient initiative to release funds and declare a package for relief & rehabilitation operations.

These natural disasters has been worsened due to greed of corporates & unscientific activities in the name of development. It is the constitutional responsibility of Union Government to intervene the flood situation & help people to save lives & livelihood. Earlier in Wayand disaster Narendra Modi made a criminal negligence towards the people of Kerala.

It is pity that at such time our PM Narendra Modi is much busy in showing his Dhol Skills in Singapore. The Government of India is trying to withdraw from responsibility & outsourcing it to few officials of NDRF and Finance Corporates. This shall lead to social disasters which may lead to food riots.

It is also observed since COP27 that natural disasters are not natural in a sense due to global warming because of corporate greed.

AIKS constituted state teams & visited flood affected area & relief works in AP, Telangana, Bihar,

All India Kisan Sabha which is actively engaged in relief activities demands that

1. Union Government should urgently declare the flood situation in Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Telangana, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Assam & other parts of India as national calamity

2. The Government of India who has already abolished the Calamity Relief Fund (CRF) in the hands of insurance Corporates, must call a high level meeting and make necessary actions for funds for relief activities of the flood affected.

3.The union government should equally respond to the all states without any political partiality

4.Government of India should declare relief of at least of rupees one crore for every life lost.

5.Government of India should immediately provide funds to establish a relief campus with precaution that every flood affected person should get necessary benefits of relief.

6.Government should provide fodder for the cattle’s of the affected families.

7. Government should declare at least 50 thousand for per acre food crop & one Lakh for cash crops.

8. Government of India should address crop failure of the tenant farmers, sharecroppers and job loss of rural labourers which should be compensated with at least wages rates for 3 months.

9. GOI should immediately order complete compensation for the crop losses under crop insurance scheme PMFBY & immediately paid for it

10. Government of India should declare loan waivers for flood affected farmers

11. The GOI should provide new loans from Banks, along with seed, fertilizers for next cultivation.

12. The Government should punish those who are responsible for incomplete rehabilitation & irresponsible management in flood administration.
