Police ask for contract copy between Yash Raj Films and the actor Sushant Singh Rajput who committed suicide under depression allegedly due to professional rivalry.
Mumbai: Bollywood actor Rhea Chakraborty recorded her statement with Bandra Police station. The investigating officer had called Rhea to record her statement in connection with the suicide of her friend and fellow actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The film – Chhiochore lead actor Sushant allegedly committed suicide at his apartment in suburban Bandra on June 14.
The police are trying to probe the reason behind Rajput’s depression and also the possibility of professional rivalry which apparently led him to clinical depression.
On Thursday Rhea reached the police station around 11.30 am, the official said. Shruti Modi, former Business Manager of Sushant also recorded the statement in connection with Rajput’s death. Shruti worked with the actor for less than eight-months.
Shruti in her statement gave details on Rajput’s personal and professional life both. She revealed on his contract with production houses, also upcoming Bollywood plans and his business plans along with social responsibilities.
“He wanted to launch a company of his own by the name – Be with Range and Realistic. He was passionate about his work and also designing a project – Called Virtual Reality, Nation India for World and Dream 150.These ideas he wanted to socially root them as a part of his project. He wanted to include genius and drop outs (failed) with him in social projects,” told Shruti to a senior cop.
Sushant had passion to gaze stars in the sky.
Shruti, the former manager of Rajput left around 7pm, while Rhea’s statement was still getting recorded in Bandra police station till the time this news went for broadcast.
On Wednesday, police recorded the statement of Bollywood casting director Mukesh Chhabra, who was also close to Rajput. Chhabra had worked with Sushant Singh Rajput in ‘Kai Po Che’ film and was to do a directorial debut movie with the late actor Rajput. “He was introvert but had positive attitude towards life and Rajput was very talent actor. Chhabra told the cops in his statement.
The police asked for the contract copy between Sushant and Yash Raj Films (YRF), told a source from police.
So far, the police have recorded statements of more than 12 people, including Rajput’s close friend Rhea and Shruti.
Earlier, Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh said the Mumbai Police will also probe the angle of “professional rivalry” which was alleged to be the cause of the suicide.
