Delhi: A case has been registered against two individuals, including one who allegedly claimed to be the son of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Amanatullah Khan, for misbehaving with Delhi Police personnel and violating traffic rules in Okhla. The incident occurred during a routine security patrol ahead of Republic Day.

The two were spotted riding a Bullet motorcycle erratically, weaving through traffic and making loud noises due to a modified silencer. Police officers stopped them for their dangerous riding behavior. According to the police, one of the individuals then identified himself as the son of AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan and accused the officers of targeting him due to his father’s political affiliation.

In addition to misbehaving with the officers, the duo allegedly refused to provide their driving licenses and identification when requested, arguing that they were not obligated to do so. The police then issued a challan and impounded their motorcycle under various violations of the Motor Vehicle Act. The total fine imposed on them amounted to ₹20,000.

The case has sparked political controversy, with the claim of political targeting adding fuel to the already charged atmosphere in the region. Authorities have confirmed that the investigation is ongoing, and appropriate legal actions are being taken.

The police also stated that the motorcycle would remain impounded as part of the ongoing proceedings. This incident comes amid heightened security in the city leading up to the Republic Day celebrations, with increased police patrols and vigilance in sensitive areas.
