New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Atishi launched a sharp attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after the withdrawal of Punjab Police security for Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal. Atishi accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah of jeopardizing Kejriwal’s safety, claiming their actions were part of a larger political strategy aimed at undermining the AAP leader.

In a scathing post on social media, Atishi questioned the Election Commission’s inaction, labeling the situation as “shameful.” She alleged that the withdrawal of Kejriwal’s security was a direct order from Amit Shah, and on the same day, Kejriwal’s vehicle was attacked by BJP supporters in Hari Nagar. Atishi expressed outrage, asking, “Does Modi-Shah want to play with Kejriwal’s life?” and further criticized the Election Commission for not intervening in the repeated attacks on the AAP leader.

“This is part of the BJP’s continued strategy of intimidation,” Atishi said. “How long will the Election Commission remain a mute spectator to the repeated attacks on a national party leader?”

The controversy arose after the Punjab Police announced the withdrawal of security personnel assigned to Kejriwal. Punjab’s Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav confirmed that the decision followed instructions from both the Election Commission of India and Delhi Police, citing ongoing security concerns for both Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.

In response, Kejriwal also took to social media, accusing BJP supporters of attacking his car during a public meeting in Hari Nagar. He alleged that the Delhi Police, acting under Amit Shah’s orders, allowed the attack to take place and transformed the force into a tool of political vendetta.

Atishi’s comments come at a time of heightened political tension in Delhi, with the ruling AAP and BJP locked in a fierce battle ahead of upcoming elections. The withdrawal of security and subsequent attack on Kejriwal’s vehicle has added fuel to the political fire, further intensifying the war of words between the two parties.
