Srinagar: “We cannot build the future for our youth, but we can build our youth for the future”.  The Indian Army leaves no stone unturned to ensure a better and brighter future for the youth of Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.

This time under Operation Sadbhavna, Indian Army has provided an opportunity to 33 children of the Union Territory to benefit from the education at Army Public School (APS), Beas.  Children from remote locations close to the Line of Control like Tangdhar, Machil, Baramulla and Srinagar, who are of needy financial background were identified and educated about the bright prospectus of obtaining education from APS, Beas.

The students of class VIII & IX have been selected for the program, and will continue their education in the same class at APS Beas for the ongoing academic year. A sum of approximate Rs 53 lakh will be invested annually towards the schooling and kitting of these children, who are being provided with bedding, toiletries & travel accessories as part of the kitting.

These children began their journey towards APS Beas on November 10 and will reach their new school by November 12.

The highly motivated, energetic and cheerful children are beginning their journey towards a plethora of avenues to achieve success in life and becoming a contributing member of the society, an initiative by the Indian Army to which parents have expressed their gratitude and joy. This has also helped in further strengthening the bond between the local populace and the Indian Army.
