Srinagar: An Army-Peoples meet was organised on Thursday by the local Indian Army formation with civil representatives of the Machil Block at Dudi to discuss various issues related to development in the area.
The meeting was attended by the local Block Development chairman and all nine sarpanches of the area. Discussion took place on wide ranging developmental issues including state of roads, mobile connectivity, health, education and initiatives for youth engagement and their employment.
The discussion also focused on various Sadhbhavana projects undertaken in the area including Army’s initiative to send meritorious children for higher education to other parts of the country. The Army also assured of all possible medical assistance during the forthcoming snow season including efforts to ensure uninterrupted connectivity of the region to the Kashmir valley.
The interactions and discussions were highlighted by frank and free exchange of views by the stakeholders and all were sanguine that development needs to be accelerated in the area and all stakeholders will put in renewed efforts. Such interactions will go a long way in ushering in ‘Vikas’ in this underdeveloped border area.
