Mumbai: Hosts Mumbai, along with Pune, Nashik and Nagpur, secured places in the semi-finals of the Under-21 girls’ category in the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Cup State-Level Volleyball Tournament being jointly organised by the Directorate of Sports and Youth Services and the Kulgaon-Badlapur Municipal Council at the Badlapur Gymkhana ground.
Mumbai topped their group after defeating Latur 25-14, 25-11 in the final league encounter and will now face Nagpur in the semi-finals. The second semi-final in the Under-21 girls’ category will feature defending champions Nashik against Pune.
In the Under-21 boys’ category, defending champions Latur finished at the top of their group after defeating Amravati 25-20, 25-21. Shehraj Sheikh, Aftab Qureshi and Nirbhay Deshmukh played aggressively for Latur, who will now take on Nagpur in the semi-finals.
In the Under-18 boys’ category, Nagpur ended Mumbai’s hopes of reaching the semi-finals with a 24-25, 25-21, 15-10 victory. Vatsalya Kiratkar and Krishna Tadse starred for Nagpur with attacking play. Nagpur will face Pune in the semi-finals.
In the Under-18 girls’ category, Pune topped the group after defeating Nagpur 25-11, 25-7. Sakshi Salunkhe and Vaishnavi Adlinge delivered standout performances for Pune, who will now meet Latur in the semi-finals.

₹23.35 Lakh Prize Pool for Finals
Badlapur is gearing up for the grand finale of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Cup State-Level Volleyball Tournament. The prize distribution ceremony will be held on Sunday evening in the presence of Eknath Shinde.
Cash prizes worth ₹23.35 lakh, along with trophies and medals, will be distributed among winners and runners-up across league matches, semi-finals and finals.
