Family and Supporters Gather for Final Goodbye
An emotional atmosphere prevailed in Lucknow as family members, relatives and political associates gathered for the last rites of Prateek Yadav, younger brother of Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav.
Visuals from the cremation ceremony showed grieving family members standing together during the final farewell. One of the moments that drew attention was Prateek Yadav’s daughter sitting beside Akhilesh Yadav during the rituals, reflecting the emotional weight of the tragedy on the family.
Prateek Yadav Died After Medical Emergency
Prateek Yadav passed away in Lucknow at the age of 38 after reportedly suffering a severe medical emergency linked to pulmonary complications.
According to medical sources, he was taken to a government hospital in the early hours of Wednesday morning by a family member. However, doctors declared him dead upon arrival after cardiac activity had already stopped.
Postmortem Reveals Pulmonary Clotting
Doctors who conducted the postmortem examination reportedly found major blood clots in the lungs, leading to pulmonary thromboembolism — a serious condition in which blocked pulmonary arteries disrupt oxygen circulation and place extreme strain on the heart.
Medical experts state that the condition can become life-threatening if blood supply to the lungs is severely obstructed.
Had Recently Undergone Treatment
Sources familiar with the matter said Prateek Yadav had recently been undergoing treatment after his health deteriorated late last month.
He was reportedly admitted to a private medical facility in Lucknow before later returning home after signs of temporary improvement.
Son of Mulayam Singh Yadav
Prateek Yadav was the son of former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav and Sadhna Yadav.
Apart from his association with one of Uttar Pradesh’s most influential political families, Prateek was also known for his business interests and involvement in social causes. An MBA graduate from the University of Leeds, he was active in the real estate sector and was recognised among close associates as a fitness enthusiast and supporter of animal welfare initiatives.
