‘I Am Neither A Rapist Nor A Pedophile’: Trump Reacts Furiously To Epstein Reference In Shooter’s Manifesto

President Donald Trump has spoken publicly about the shocking shooting incident during the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, saying the situation escalated rapidly but praising the United States Secret Service for acting swiftly to secure the venue.

In an interview after the incident, Trump described the tense moments when gunfire broke out during the high-profile event, saying First Lady Melania Trump immediately sensed the seriousness of the danger.

Trump said that while he remained calm, Melania appeared deeply shaken as the incident unfolded. Recalling the moment, he said, “I wasn’t worried. I understand life. We live in a crazy world… I saw the scene… and she looked very upset about what just took place.”

He added that what initially seemed manageable quickly turned into what he described as “a bad problem, a different kind of problem.”

Gunfire Erupts at White House Correspondents’ Dinner

The incident took place on Saturday evening during the annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner at the Hilton, when a man allegedly attempted to breach security and opened fire.

The suspect has been identified as 31-year-old Cole Tomas Allen, who authorities say was subdued by the Secret Service shortly after the shooting began.

Officials confirmed that President Trump, Melania Trump, and Vice President JD Vance were safely evacuated from the venue during the emergency. However, one security officer was injured during the response operation.

The shooting sent panic through the gathering, which is attended annually by top government officials, journalists and political figures.

Trump Rejects Allegations in Suspect’s Manifesto

Following the attack, investigators reportedly recovered a manifesto from the suspect that broadly accused “administration officials” of serious crimes and appeared to reference controversies linked to Jeffrey Epstein.

Trump strongly rejected the allegations mentioned in the document, calling the suspect mentally unstable and denying the accusations in direct terms.

He said, “I read the manifesto. He’s a sick person… I’m not any of those things,” before adding, “I’m not a rapist… I’m not a paedophile,” while insisting that he had been “totally exonerated.”

The President’s forceful denial has drawn attention as investigators continue to examine whether the suspect’s writings were linked to his motive.

Authorities Investigating Suspect’s Motive

According to US Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, preliminary findings suggest the suspect may have intended to target members of the Trump administration.

Investigators are currently analysing the accused’s electronic devices, travel records, and personal contacts to determine whether the attack was politically motivated or linked to other extremist influences.

Officials say the investigation remains in the early stages, but the evidence recovered so far suggests the shooting may have been premeditated.

Trump Praises Secret Service for Quick Action

President Trump praised the response of the Secret Service and security teams, saying their quick intervention prevented the situation from becoming even more dangerous.

He said, “Those guys did a good job last night. They did a really good job,” crediting the agents for neutralising the threat and safely evacuating key officials.

The White House has not yet announced whether additional security measures will be introduced for future public events following the attack.
