Iran Resumes International Flights from Tehran Airport After Two-Month Conflict With US and Israel

Iran Restarts International Air Travel from Tehran

Iran has resumed commercial international flights from Tehran’s main airport for the first time since the outbreak of conflict with the United States and Israel nearly two months ago.

State television confirmed on Saturday that flights departed from Imam Khomeini International Airport to Istanbul, Muscat and Medina, marking the reopening of one of the country’s most important international aviation hubs.

The resumption of flights is being viewed as an important step toward restoring normal commercial operations after weeks of disruption caused by regional tensions.

Flights Depart for Istanbul, Muscat and Medina

According to state media, the first batch of international flights on Saturday departed for Istanbul, Muscat and Medina.

Flight tracking service Flightradar24 also showed that at least three flights to Istanbul left Tehran on Saturday morning, confirming the gradual restoration of outbound international services.

The resumed flights are expected to ease travel disruptions for passengers affected by the prolonged closure of Iranian airspace.

Airspace Reopened After Ceasefire

Iran had partially reopened its airspace earlier this month following a ceasefire agreement with the United States, effectively ending the recent hostilities that had severely disrupted regional travel and commercial aviation.

The reopening of Tehran’s main airport signals increasing confidence in the ceasefire and suggests that Iran is beginning to stabilise critical transport operations.

Although only limited routes have resumed for now, officials are expected to gradually expand services depending on the security situation.

Return to Normal Operations Begins

The shutdown of air travel during the conflict had led to widespread disruptions in passenger movement and airline schedules, affecting routes across the Middle East.

With commercial operations now restarting from Tehran, the move is seen as a key indicator that Iran is beginning to restore normalcy after the military tensions.
