US Spends ₹2.63 Lakh Crore in 31 Days in Iran Conflict, Costs Hit ₹9.8 Lakh Per Second

The ongoing conflict between the United States and Iran has turned into one of the most expensive military operations in recent times. According to estimates based on data from the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), the United States is spending an astonishing ₹8,455 crore every single day.

In just 31 days, the total expenditure has already crossed ₹2.63 lakh crore, highlighting the massive financial scale of the war.

₹9.8 Lakh Per Second: The Real Cost of War

To understand the intensity of spending, break it down further:

  • The US is reportedly spending ₹9.8 lakh every second
  • That means:
    • ₹5.88 crore per minute
    • ₹352 crore per hour

This level of expenditure reflects the high-tech, multi-domain warfare strategy currently being used.

Where Is the Money Going? Full Breakdown

The daily spending of ₹8,455 crore is distributed across multiple military operations:

Munitions and Missiles

A huge chunk — around ₹3,040 crore per day — is spent on weapons like Tomahawk missiles, JDAM bombs, and other precision-guided systems.

Air Operations

About ₹2,327 crore daily is used for air missions, including fighter jet sorties, bombers, mid-air refuelling, and surveillance flights.

Naval Operations

The US Navy operations cost nearly ₹1,472 crore per day, covering aircraft carriers, submarines, and destroyers deployed in the region.

Missile Defence Systems

Around ₹902 crore daily goes into defence systems such as THAAD, Patriot, and Aegis to intercept incoming threats.

Intelligence and Cyber Warfare

Modern warfare relies heavily on data and technology. Nearly ₹427 crore per day is spent on satellites, cyber operations, and surveillance.

Personnel and Logistics

Troops, supply chains, and medical support together cost about ₹285 crore daily.

Conflict Enters Second Month Under Donald Trump

The conflict, which began on February 28, has now entered its second month under US President Donald Trump. Military operations continue across air, sea, and cyber domains, with no slowdown in spending.

No End in Sight, Costs May Rise Further

Experts warn that if the conflict continues for a longer period, the financial burden on American taxpayers will grow significantly. Sustained deployments, high-cost weapon systems, and continuous operations could push the total cost even higher in the coming weeks.

The situation remains tense, and without a clear resolution, the war could become one of the most expensive prolonged military engagements in recent history.
