Srinagar: In a historic achievement, Mehreen Jan has become the first girl from Kupwara district to win a gold medal at the prestigious 8th Wushu Federation Cup 2025, held in Chhattisgarh from March 25 to 27. Representing the Khelo India Centre (KIC), Handwara, the young athlete showcased exceptional skill, resilience, and determination, securing victory after five hard-fought bouts.

Mehreen’s win not only marks a personal triumph but also represents a significant milestone for the Kupwara district and the broader Jammu and Kashmir sports community.
