Srinagar: The evolutionary position of any civilised society is directly dependent on the degree of freedom and empowerment it’s women exercise.

The 15th Rashtriya Rifles (RR) Battalion, Vilgam organised a 10-day course of driving classes for women from its (Area of Responsibility) AoR at Gushi Army Camp. The classes are scheduled from March 18 to March 28.

The flag off at the driving class was done by Haseena Begum, BDC Kupwara, Hanifa Begum, VTC incharge and Mohmada Begum Sarpanch, Mughalpura Panchayat

A total of 14 women will be benefited from the classes. The project is funded under Operation Sadbhavana of the Indian Army.

Through the end of this course, the 14 Kashmiri women would have learnt how to drive a four-wheeler vehicle without ever having to be dependent on the patriarchal norms for their future errands.
