Delhi: Leader of the Opposition in the Delhi Assembly and AAP leader Atishi on Monday criticized the BJP-led Delhi government over its handling of the city’s worsening pollution. Speaking passionately, she said, “The BJP-led Delhi government is running away from the issue of pollution. Pollution is the biggest problem in Delhi today… When AAP demands a discussion on the issue of pollution, the BJP makes excuses to avoid the discussion… Why is this drama happening?… The BJP wants to avoid discussing pollution because they have no answers… We demand that this theatrics be stopped and a discussion on the issue of pollution be held immediately.”
Atishi accused the ruling party of ignoring citizen concerns and failing to implement effective measures to tackle smog and rising particulate matter levels. She called on the Delhi Assembly to convene an urgent debate on pollution, warning that inaction could have severe health consequences for residents, especially children and the elderly.
