Jorhat: Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi on Friday raised serious concerns over a report claiming that during a BJP Zoom call meeting, attended by the state BJP president, party members allegedly discussed removing voters from the list if they did not support the BJP.

Gogoi condemned the reported comments, stating, “Who are they to remove people from the voter list? The right to vote is a constitutional right. The Central Election Commission is silent… We are registering an FIR on this.”

The Congress leader accused the ruling party of attempting to intimidate voters ahead of upcoming elections, emphasizing that such actions undermine the democratic process and violate fundamental rights. He urged the Election Commission to take immediate notice of the alleged incident and ensure that voter rights are fully protected.
