Delhi: Delhi Minister Ashish Sood strongly criticized opposition members in the Delhi Assembly, accusing them of avoiding accountability on critical issues like pollution. Speaking after a heated discussion in the House, Sood said, “They cannot escape from the incompetence of the AAP and their 10 years of misgovernance. They will have to answer to the public for this.”
The controversy erupted during a debate on the role of spiritual leaders in public life, during which the opposition allegedly made inappropriate remarks, according to Sood. He claimed that despite repeated opportunities to address pressing civic issues, opposition leaders deliberately diverted attention and disrupted proceedings to avoid questions about Delhi’s environmental and pollution challenges.
Sood further highlighted that the opposition has consistently sidestepped discussions on pollution, which remains a critical issue in the city, and accused them of undermining legislative debates to shield themselves from public scrutiny.
