New Delhi: BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad on Sunday criticized the opposition’s candidate for the Vice President of India post, retired Supreme Court judge Sudershan Reddy, raising questions about his political affiliations and recent meetings.

Speaking to the media, Prasad said, “Retired Judge of the Supreme Court Sudershan Reddy is the opposition’s candidate for the post of Vice President. He has urged people to vote for him to ‘save the soul of the nation.’ But he recently met RJD Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, who is convicted in the fodder scam. What kind of retired Supreme Court judge meets someone convicted of a scam? This is hypocrisy. Please don’t talk about the soul of the nation.”

Prasad’s remarks come ahead of the Vice Presidential election, highlighting the BJP’s criticism of opposition strategies and candidates. He accused Reddy of sending mixed signals about ethics and integrity, questioning his suitability for a constitutional post that demands impartiality and moral authority.
