Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced today that the state government will provide a 50% subsidy on electricity bills for consumers using up to 100 units of power per month. For residents in high Himalayan regions, the subsidy limit will be extended to 200 units. This initiative is aimed at providing financial relief to low-usage households across the state.

Addressing a public gathering, Dhami said, “This subsidy will bring significant relief to the people of Uttarakhand, particularly those living in remote and hilly areas. We are committed to ensuring that essential services are affordable for everyone.”

In addition to the electricity subsidy, Dhami also highlighted the recent implementation of the anti-riot law passed by the state assembly. “Uttarakhand is a peaceful state, and we will not tolerate any form of rioting or vandalism. If anyone damages government or private property, compensation will be recovered from the rioters themselves,” he said, emphasizing the state’s firm stance against civil unrest.

Dhami also discussed his government’s commitment to filling vacancies in the public sector. “Since taking office, we have filled over 17,000 government positions, ensuring transparency and fairness in all recruitment processes,” Dhami said. On Friday, he announced that appointment letters will be distributed to 1,094 engineers, helping to address the state’s shortage of technical professionals.

“Our goal is to continue this recruitment drive, ensuring the state’s development progresses swiftly and efficiently,” Dhami added, reiterating his vision for Uttarakhand’s future.

These initiatives reflect the state government’s focus on both social welfare and infrastructure development, aiming to create a prosperous and peaceful environment for the citizens of Uttarakhand.
