Lucknow: There is a lot of outrage among the journalists of the district after the hate speech made by the District Basic Education Officer (DBEO), Siddharth Nagar with the journalist and its audio went viral. In this regard, a meeting by the Indian Journalist Association (IJA) in Dumariaganj was publicly condemned by the BSA.

A demand has been made to the government to direct the accused officer to apologize to the journalist and sack him.

It was also warned that if the accused officer did not publicly apologize to the journalists within 24 hours and if he was not sacked, an indefinite agitation would be launched by the IJA.

In a meeting organized at the camp office of the district unit of the IJA located in Dumariaganj, district president Krishna Pratap Singh said that the hate speech and objectionable remarks made by District Basic Education Officer Devendra Pandey about the journalists are condemnable. He should be immediately asked to publicly apologise or else he should be fired.

State spokesperson for Purvanchal affairs, Hashim Rizvi said that instead of taking action against the teachers who are absent from the schools by the BSA, they were threatening the journalists who expose the truth, and making hate speech remarks against them shows their sick mentality.  It is indecent to do such kind of action, action should be taken against them.

He warned that if action is not taken against the concerned officer soon, then the IJA will stage an indefinite strike at the office of District Basic Education Officer. Basti Mandal media in-charge Vijay Yadav said that instead of looking at the shortcomings and corruption in his department, it is unbearable to use indecent language about journalists, such officers should be removed from the post immediately.

Among those who were present at the meeting included Bhupendra Singh, Mohammad Naeem, Rajesh Yadav, Vikrant Srivastava, Mehndi Rizvi, Wasim Akram, Sohail Ahmed, PD Dubey, Shailesh Pandey, Mithilesh and other Journalists.
