Two corona patients die due to the fire incident in the hospital

Mumbai: Two patients lost their lives in the fire which broke out in the Apex Hospital in Mulund on Monday. Meanwhile, other patients were shifted to another hospital and the condition of the patients is said to be stable.

APEX Hospital in Mulund was converted into Covid special hospital, and Covid affected patients were getting treatment there. On Monday, due to the power failure occurring all over the city, the hospital was running on the power supplied by the generator. Suddenly a fire broke out in the generator at around 5 pm. In less time the fire escalated and as a precautionary measure all the patients were shifted to other nearby civic run hospitals in a hurry.

In this incident, a 70-year-old man identified as Pandurang Kulkarni died On Monday, while 12 patients out of total 40 patients have been shifted to Fortis Hospital.

A 55-year-old man, named Virender Singh, who was shifted to Fortis Hospital on Tuesday, died during treatment.

Singh family’s facing problems as their family member died due to this incident and now, they have to pay Rs 1,70,000 bill for Fortis Hospital.

“My father Virender Singh died on Tuesday, did not even spend 24 hours in the Fortis Hospital, but the hospital handed me a bill of Rs 1,70,000 to pay. At first, we did not know where my father had been shifted. Later on we came to know that my father was shifted, shifted to Fortis Hospital. After receiving the news of his death in the morning, when I went to claim the body, I was told to clear the bill first”.
