Twenty-eight passengers injured as a bus turns turtle in Handwara

Srinagar: At least 28 persons were injured when a vehicle they were travelling in met with an accident in Watayin area of Handwara in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Tuesday.

A government official told the news agency that a bus turned turtle near Watayin when it was on its way to Srinagar. He said that in the accident at least 28 persons were injured and they were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The official added that among 20 injured 14 were later referred to district hospital Handwara. According to deputy superintendent of district hospital Handwara, Dr Aijaz said that almost 28 persons were injured in said accident out of which two persons were later referred to Srinagar and three other persons were referred to Government Medical College (GMC), Baramulla for further treatment.
