Srinagar: In an effort to promote road safety and encourage responsible driving, the Handwara Police District organized a series of traffic awareness programs across various locations within the district. The events saw active participation from students from several schools, who played a key role in spreading awareness among the public.
The programs, conducted under the guidance of senior police officials, included awareness rallies, the distribution of informative pamphlets, and interactive sessions focusing on traffic rules and regulations. Students, along with their teachers and local traffic police officers, engaged with commuters, highlighting the importance of wearing helmets, using seat belts, and refraining from using mobile phones while driving.
The initiative is aimed at fostering a culture of road safety among the youth and instilling a sense of shared responsibility for creating safer roads in Handwara.
