Srinagar: A grand educational conference was organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Rehbar-e-Taleem Teachers Forum (JKRTTF), Kupwara, at the Auditorium Hall of Government Boys’ Higher Secondary School, Handwara. Themed “Quality Education – A Collective Responsibility,” the event underscored the shared commitment of educators, institutions, and the community in shaping a brighter academic future for the region.
A significant highlight of the event was the emotional and respectful farewell accorded to Manzoor Ahmad Bhat, former DIET Principal Kupwara, in recognition of his decades-long service, visionary leadership, and unwavering dedication to the field of education.
The conference was graced by several distinguished dignitaries, including DEPO Kupwara Mohammad Iqbal Shah, DNO Mohammad Iqbal, Principal of Higher Secondary School Qalamabad Kifayatullah Shah, State Vice Chairman JKRTTF Zedd Dee Beigh, UT Secretary G. M. Dar, Superintendent of GMC Handwara Dr. Aijaz, and the District President of the Ministerial Forum along with his team. Senior academician Nazir Shahbaz and the host, District President JKRTTF Kupwara Sheikh Parvaiz, were also present. The event saw participation from district-level members and zonal presidents across Kupwara, reflecting the unity and dedication of the teaching community.
Addressing the media, the President of JKRTTF praised the relentless efforts of Rehbar-e-Taleem teachers, stating, “Our teachers remain ever-committed to serving students and enhancing the quality of education across every corner of the district.” He also highlighted the Zimadari Project, a unique initiative aimed at promoting accountability, responsibility, and student-centred learning in schools.
Beyond academic discourse, the conference brought attention to various pressing social issues. Speakers raised alarm over the growing threat of drug addiction, emphasized the importance of environmental preservation, advocated for tree plantation drives, and reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring access to quality basic education for every child.
The event concluded on a high note, with participants leaving re-energized and united in their mission to use education as a powerful tool for social transformation.
