New Delhi: In a startling claim, Trinamool Congress MP Kalyan Banerjee has alleged that Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar was “forced” to resign by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and senior Cabinet ministers. Banerjee stated that Dhankhar was threatened with an impeachment motion if he did not step down by 9 pm on the day of his resignation.
According to Banerjee, “Jagdeep Dhankhar was forced to resign by the Prime Minister and other Cabinet ministers. He was threatened that if he didn’t resign before 9 pm on that day, an impeachment motion would be brought against him. This is a pressure tactic by the PM and other Cabinet ministers.”
Banerjee also claimed that Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is likely to be appointed as the next Vice President of India, adding fuel to the political fire surrounding the sudden resignation.
