“Tharoor Is BJP’s Super Spokesperson”: Congress Leader Udit Raj Slams MP for Praising Modi Govt

New Delhi: Congress leader Udit Raj has launched a sharp attack on his party colleague and Member of Parliament Shashi Tharoor, accusing him of echoing the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) narrative and praising the Modi government more than some BJP leaders themselves.

In a scathing statement, Udit Raj said, “Congress MP Shashi Tharoor is the super spokesperson of the BJP, and what the BJP leaders are not saying, speaking in favour of PM Modi and the government, Shashi Tharoor is doing.”

The remark comes after Tharoor’s recent public statements, where he reportedly commended the Centre for initiatives related to defence and foreign policy, prompting criticism from within the Congress ranks.

Raj questioned Tharoor’s understanding of the Congress party’s historical role in shaping the nation’s defence capabilities. “Does he (Shashi Tharoor) even know what the earlier governments used to do?” he asked, referring to past Congress-led regimes that significantly contributed to the modernization of the Indian Armed Forces.

He further alleged that the current government is trying to appropriate credit for the military’s achievements, which were built over decades. “They (the Central government) are taking credit for the Indian Armed Forces…” Udit Raj said.
