Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district witnessed a terror attack on Wednesday afternoon as an Indian Army vehicle came under fire in the Sunderbani area, according to reports. Additional reinforcements have been rushed to the site, and a massive cordon-and-search operation has been launched to track down the attackers.
So far, no casualties or injuries have been reported. Security forces are combing the area to neutralize any potential threats.
In a separate incident earlier in the day, the Border Security Force (BSF) foiled an intrusion bid along the international border in Punjab’s Pathankot. A Pakistani intruder was shot dead by BSF troops near Border Outpost (BOP) Tashpatan in the pre-dawn hours of Wednesday.
The BSF issued a statement saying, “An intruder was observed crossing the IB; he was challenged by the alert troops but paid no heed & kept on moving. BSF troops, sensing a threat, neutralized the intruder. The identity & motive of the intruder are being ascertained.”
