On the directions of Deputy Commissioner (DC), Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan, Tehsildar Handwara, along with officials of Municipal Committee Handwara, Food department and police team conducted market checking in Handwara on Monday.
During the occasion, Tehsildar Handwara, Zeeshan Khan, visited various markets to inspect the rates of essential commodities. The Tehsildar stated that the aim of organizing the market checking is to vigilantly monitor the availability of essential commodities and curb exorbitant rates.
Throughout the drive, erring shopkeepers were fined on the spot and directed to keep fresh vegetables available in the market. Tehsildar Handwara also instructed street vendors to keep their carts at the designated place at Handwara Bus Stand.
After concluding the market visit, Tehsildar Handwara also visited the Associated Hospital GMC Handwara to review heating and other facilities.
